Noteworthy News from Jeta Gardens Aged Care Facility

WELCOME TO NEWS AT JETA

Welcome to our first Jeta Gardens Newsletter containing information from all departments within our facility. We will be providing updated Newsletters on our Jetagardens.com website, allowing residents, families, friends and interested future residents, the opportunity to keep up to date with, achievements, events, activities, maintenance, Covid-19 updates, staff changes, management announcements and much more.

We are continuing to grow the number of residents that call Jeta Gardens home, offering a variety of services from ACF living, Retirement Village Living and Home Care.

We’re excited to announce we’ll be holding an open day for Jeta Gardens next month! This is a great chance to come down and meet some of our residents, speak with our management team and explore everything Jeta Gardens has to offer. We hope to see you on Saturday the 30th of October

COVID-SAFE BEHAVIOURS

Serious Incident Risk Scheme (SIRs)

Is a new initiative to help prevent and reduce incidents of abuse and neglect in residential aged care services subsidised by the Australian Government. The scheme requires aged care providers to identify, record, manage, resolve, and report all serious incidents that occur or are alleged or suspected to have occurred. A strong focus of SIRS is to reduce the risk of abuse and neglect occurring and reoccurring in aged care, to apply learnings to organizational continuous improvement and ensure residents affected by a serious incident are supported. More updates to follow when further information has been released by the Department of Health.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

This social media policy has been designed to help all of our valuable employees share the joys of working with our organisation, resident representatives and contractors that are welcomed into our home, without ever putting themselves, our residents, or our brand at risk.

THIS REFERS TO ‘SOCIAL MEDIA’ OR ‘ONLINE’, WE MEAN ANY AND ALL INFORMATION YOU MAY PUBLISH IN ANYWAY EITHER ON A PLATFORM DESIGNED FOR INTERACTION, SUCH AS FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, WE CHAT, SNAPCHAT, TIKTOK, YOUTUBE OR ANY SIMILAR PLATFORM, ANY ONLINE FORUM (PUBLIC OR PRIVATE) OR WIKI, OR ANY WEBSITE.

When posting as Jeta Gardens using our organisation’s profiles, or when posting on personal profiles, you must not share confidential information or any information that belongs to Jeta Gardens. You will also be required to consult with management prior to posting anything with a Jeta Gardens logo or branding, or posting imagery, footage or audio captured in the workplace, or when attending to a resident in their home or at any other location.

Social media is not always easy, and neither are rules, so below are a few examples of actions that may be considered a breach of this policy:

  • Taking a video of an elderly resident and posting to Jeta Gardens or your own personal profiles without the resident’s or Jeta
    Gardens’ permission (preferably in writing).
  • Commenting on a complaint a resident or resident’s family has made online about you or Jeta Gardens’ service.
  • Setting your profile to show you work for Jeta Gardens or posting pictures of yourself in uniform or indicating in a post you work for Jeta Gardens and then posting in an offensive or discriminatory manner.
  • Announcing the building of a new wing at Jeta Gardens before it has been formally announced (this would be classed as confidential information).
  • Making racist comments about another employee on your own social media profile (this could be classed as bullying).

The response to any breach will be managed on a case-by-case basis depending on the action of the person who has breached the policy.

If you are concerned, uncertain or need clarity with regards to our social media policy, please contact Chief Executive Officer, Wesley Carter, wes@jetagardens.com
